Grid Goals: Post Ideas That Actually Work

Feeling stuck on what to post to your grid? These grid post ideas take the guesswork out of content planning. No more posting just to post — these prompts are designed to spark real conversations, attract your dream audience, and keep your grid looking polished, purposeful, and totally on point. 

  • Caption Idea: From (year you started) to our (where your business is currently), it’s been a pretty amazing journey. What a difference (time period) can make! 
  • Customization Tip: Add the correct details for your business’s specific story. Be real and raw with your emotions and create a sense of authenticity with your target audience.
  • SEO Tip: Use location-based keywords and/or industry-specific terms that will resonate with your customer. For example, if you're the proud owner of a local coffee shop you could add “before-and-after that morning coffee hits in Old Town Orange ” into your caption.


  • Caption Idea: Shoutout to (Customer Name)! We love hearing these stories — insert a brief customer story here. What has (product/service) done for you? We wanna hear it — you know what to do👇👇👇   
  • Customization Tip: When you're adding a client story, I want you to think of the ways your business helped that client accomplish a goal of theirs... use that to write your caption.
  • SEO Tip: Include a keyword related to your product or service (e.g., "Best muscle recovery treatment in Costa Mesa"). Adding the specific city is great for local SEO.


  • Caption Idea: Ever wonder how we (key business function)? Here’s a sneak peek of what goes into (product/service) creation!    
  • Customization Tip: Giving your customers insight into your business that they normally wouldn't see builds their trust in you and make you feel more relatable. This credibility will make you stand out in the crowd of your competitors.
  • SEO Tip: Add keywords like “(your city( + (Service)” to optimize your caption for search for potential customers who are searching for specific services in your area. 


  • Caption Idea: What exactly does (product/service] do? Here’s a quick breakdown to show how it can (insert great thing it can do here). Want a demo? Let us know in the comments!     
  • Customization Tip: Let's say you run a wellness lounge and you want to highlight cold plunge therapy... your caption could say, "What exactly is the benefit of sitting in freezing cold water?! Here's a quick breakdown of how our cold plunge therapy can help your muscles recover faster after a tough workout. Check out our stories to dive in and see what the experience is like."
  • SEO Tip: Including the reason your service solves the problems your ideal customer is having ('help your muscles recover faster' in this example) is a great way to get found in searches!


  • Caption Idea: We love when YOU show us how you’re using (product/service). Check out this post from (user handle) and keep tagging us — we want to feature you!      
  • Customization Tip: I've said it before and I'll say it again: your audience wants to see realness! They want to relate to your business to build that connection, which will ultimately promote loyalty to your brand. Show them a real customer utilizing your services or an actual before-and-after picture of how your product helped someone.
  • SEO Tip: Encourage users to use a branded hashtag (e.g., #BusinessReviews), which can help improve brand searchability + share your post to their socials, which boosts engagement.


  • Caption Idea: We’re proud to be part of the (local community name) and to work with businesses like (Local Business Name). Their (insert their product/service) + our (insert your product/service) = your perfect match on this (insert type of day/season/time of year).       
  • Customization Tip: Put yourself in the shoes of your ideal customer. What does their day-to-day look like? What businesses in the community do you truly support? Share your personality in this post, promote your fellow businesses, and build the community vibe.
  • SEO Tip: Optimize with local SEO terms like “Supporting (City) small businesses” to help with regional searches. 


Reel Talk: Engage Your Audience

 These IG Story and Reel ideas are made to help you connect with your audience in real time and have a little fun while you’re at it. Because showing up on video doesn’t have to be overwhelming — it just has to be real.

  • Concept: Ask your audience, "What’s your favorite way to use (product/service]?" Use the poll option for them to vote, a multiple choice sticker, or a question box to collect their responses. Share the results to your stories too!
  • Customization Tip: Give your opinions and answers, and the reasons why to help connect with your audience.


  • Concept: Coordinate this story/reel to post on the same day as your behind-the-scenes grid post. Give more details about a process your customers wouldn't normally see or make a cameo and chat about a day-in-the-life of your brand.

  • Concept: We all love reading reviews right?! Your clients want to read about others having great experiences using your products and services.
  • Customization Tip: Tagging the customer promotes authenticity and engagement — a video testimonial is even better!


  • Concept:  Show something actionable or a visually striking before-and-after transformation. Give your customers a visual representation of something they want to achieve and how you can help them get there. 
  • Customization Tip: Use a great text hook on-screen like “How we transformed a (the problem) into (your solution) for our clients in [City].”
